About the Event

The Lycée Français de New York is pleased to announce Gala 2012, Les Années Folles. Fostering our mission of international citizenship and the joy of learning with our students, Les Années Folles recalls the creativity and exchange of ideas of a period which promoted artistic, cultural and literary dynamism. Our theme interprets these characteristics into today’s world of Inspiring Minds, Sharing Cultures. The Gala will take place in the dazzling setting of the Park Avenue Armory in New York City on Saturday, March 17, 2012.

This year we are proud to honor Mr. Jean Paul Gaultier with the Charles de Ferry de Fontnouvelle Award, named after the founding president of our school, given to individuals of note whose accomplishments resonate with the Lycée's community and mission. As an inspirational leader in the Arts, Mr. Gaultier is internationally recognized as one of the most influential and innovative fashion designers of our time.

Last year’s Gala was attended by more than 1000 guests and raised $2 million for the school. It was the highlight of the social season of the French-American community in New York with the participation of over 55 prominent corporate sponsors.

The Lycée Français de New York is a non-profit, private school that enrolls 1350 students representing over 50 nationalities from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. Your support of Gala 2012 will enable us to continue to provide an education that both encourages and respects diversity between people and cultures. Proceeds from the annual Gala are used towards educational and cultural initiatives, as well as, help fund the scholarship program.
